Agri-food and the Productes de l’Empordà guarantee mark

    The Regional Council of the Baix Empordà is working showcase the value of agricultural and food products and artisanal food products, in particular ones that are typical of the Empordà. The Productes de l’Empordà guarantee mark certifies and recognises products that are produced, made, processed or packaged in the Empordà in accordance with its traditions. The mark currently includes Arròs de Pals rice, Botifarradolça sausage, Brunyols de l’Empordà doughnuts, Ceba de Figueres onion, Fesol de l’ullros beans, Gamba de Palamós prawns, Poma de relleno de Vilabertran stuffed apples and Recuit curd cheese.

    The regional council also helps acknowledge products included in other quality certifications: Empordà Designation of Origin wine (DO), Empordà Protected Designation of Origin oil (PDO) and Girona Protected Geographical Indication apples (PGI).

    The Tourism Area also encourages people to visit and discover these local producers and artisans who, with their hard work and dedication, help maintain and publicise the identity of the region, opening the doors to their homes. This combination of tourism, crafts and agricultural and food products contributes to the development of sustainable and responsible tourism in the region.
