Sant Feliu de Guíxols is a warm and friendly city in the Empordà with nearly 22,000 inhabitants. It is located in the heart of the Costa Brava and characterised by the hospitality of its inhabitants, making it a welcoming place.

The city, an old fishing centre, has an important historical heritage, of which the best example is the Benedictine monastery and the oldest part is the Romanesque Porta Ferrada, with the Torre del Fum and the Torre del Corn either side. Other notable buildings include the Casino dels Nois, the Covered Market and the modernist houses at Platja de Sant Pol.

The city is set in a landscape full of contrasts. Come and discover the coastline of cliffs and small coves, walk along the beaches and let yourself be carried away by the charm of the natural areas surrounding it such as the Gavarres and Ardenya mountains. You can also follow the greenway that links Sant Feliu to Girona by bike or on foot, climb on the via ferrata at Cala del Molí, the only one in Europe positioned over the sea, go diving to discover the fauna and flora of the coast and go kayaking or sailing.

At the church of Sant Elm where the poet, journalist and politician Ferran Agulló gave the Costa Brava its name, you can enjoy spectacular, panoramic views of the coastline and bay of Sant Feliu.

The town has also put itself on the region’s cultural map with the Carmen Thyssen Space, which houses temporary exhibitions by great artists and will soon become the Carmen Thyssen Art Centre, featuring a major collection of Catalan art. You can also visit the History Museum and the Toy Museum, located in the centre of the city.

Sant Feliu de Guíxols has a large offer of family, cultural, sporting and gastronomic activities, all-year round. These include the Story Fair, Christmas activities, the Porta Ferrada Festival, gastronomic campaigns (Sea Urchins, Cod and Dried Cod, Oily Fish and Ganxotapes) and the September fairs (Drawing, Games, Records, Patchwork, Motor).
