Sweet sausage

    This is a raw or cured sausage made in the traditional way since the 14th century. It can be found in butchers and delicatessens in the Empordà all year round. It is eaten as an aperitif, a main course and in desserts.

    PERIOD OF MANUFACTURE
    All year.

    INGREDIENTS
    Lean pork, sugar, lemon, salt and sometimes cinnamon.

    CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PRODUCT
    It can be eaten raw or dried.

    PACKAGING
    Loose.

    STORAGE
    Raw: keep refrigerated.
    Dried: store in a dry place.
