The Clots de Sant Julià

  • Clots de Sant Julià. Cavitats entre roques. Paret de roca a banda i banda i pas al mig

The Clots de Sant Julià are old quarries in Vulpellac. They comprise a collection of cavities, some of which are up to 10 metres deep, cut into the rock. Their origins could be very ancient, as a number of Roman and pre-Roman findings have been made here. It is also said that Peratallada might have been built using the rocks from these sites.

To access this very unusual location, follow the GR-92.1 path from Vulpellac towards Canapost. It is easy to access.

The depth of some of these cavities in the rocks means you must take great care, especially if you go with children.
