The climb to the castle that crowns the Montgrí mountains is an unmissable visit. This is an emblematic and much-loved point in the middle of a natural park with spectacular views of the Empordà.
From Torroella de Montgrí, you can get here on foot without too much effort by following the GR-92 path. There is no vehicular access. Once at the top, you can carry on along this long-distance path or head into the Montgrí mountains following other signposted paths.
Although the route is not especially difficult, it is important to take care and we recommend wearing suitable footwear. As this is a granite massif, the signs are on the stones and rocks and so it is important to keep an eye out at all times.
