  Quality Plan for Tourist Destinations

  Since 2004, the Regional Council of the Baix Empordà has been working on implementing the Quality Plan for Tourist Destinations, a management system that guarantees compliance with basic quality standards in the tourist services provided and in the resources visitors to the region enjoy. This quality plan is based on the Spanish Integrated Quality Tourist Destination System (SICTED), promoted by Spain’s Ministry of Tourism and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.

  
  

  SICTED is currently in place in 192 destinations in Spain with over 9,000 companies participating and/or with the distinction.

  
  

  The businesses, services and institutions with the SICTED distinction are evaluated annually and renew their quality commitment by complying with a set of best practices relating to aspects including human resource management, customer service and attention, communication of services, sale of products, relationship with suppliers, maintenance of installations and sustainable environmental management.
