The Carcaixells are a group of granite domes that rise imposingly from the woodland in the Ardenya mountains. Montclar is the main peak, at 417 metres in height. It has spectacular views.
To reach them, you can take an itinerary that starts in Can Llaurador (near Solius) and which follows the PR-102 path. Further on, you have to follow the Carcaixells local path (SL), which will take you to the summit.
The characteristics of this path and its surroundings mean that it is necessary to climb the rocks with the help of fixed ropes and chains. It is not especially difficult but you do have to be alert and take care. There is a suspension bridge, but for safety reasons the path passes beneath it.
