The Montgr\u00ed mountains, Medes Islands and Baix Ter plain introduce us to this natural park\u2019s main feature: diversity. Diversity of landscapes, species, habitats, towns and villages, possibilities, and ways to discover and love the park.<\/p>\n<p>Get to know the Montgr\u00ed coast from l\u2019Escala to l\u2019Estartit; walk along the fine sand beaches between l\u2019Estartit and Pals that separate the sea from the marshes, mud flats and salt flats that are very close by.<\/p>\n<p>Explore the Medes Islands and the Montgr\u00ed coast and take advantage of the natural viewpoints the park provides, especially Montgr\u00ed castle and Roca Maura, to enjoy the patchwork of the agricultural landscape that surrounds the park and the last stretch of the river Ter.<\/p>\n<p>You can travel through time, going from Neolithic coves to a medieval castle, imagining how the population defended itself from pirates when you visit the defence towers, and lose yourself in the medieval towns and villages with streets where it seems like time has not passed.<\/p>\n<p>In the park there are 38 natural habitats, 17 of which are Habitats of European Interest and four are priorities for conservation. The Park includes 32 heritage elements that have been declared to be Cultural Assets of National Interest (BCIN). We recommend visiting the Can Quintana Museum of the Mediterranean, the home of the Natural Park Interpretation Centre, which will guide you into the park where you can take advantage of almost 180 kilometres of signposted itineraries to do on foot or by bike<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This park is really several spaces with three landscapes.
